The Second Bishop of the Western Kowloon Diocese of the Anglican Church in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui was consecrated to the episcopate on 25 March 2012 at St. John’s Cathedral.
The Rt. Rev. Andrew Chan Au-Ming was elected bishop at a meeting of the diocesan convention in July 2011 and succeeds Dr. Thomas Soo.
Ordained in 1992, as educated at the seminary of the Hong Kong diocese and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of London in 2004. Bishop Chan was the dean of St John’s Cathedral in Hong Kong at the time of his election.
He will be installed as bishop of Western Kowloon at All Saints‘ Cathedral, Mongkok on 26 March 2012.
Bishop Chan, 50, was ordained a priest in 1992 and obtained a master’s degree in pastoral theology from the University of London in 2004. A year later, he was appointed the first Chinese pastor of St John’s Cathedral.
